I entered in the Google task bar box.  where is john gelles' blog ?

I got back  the blog entry for November 6, 2005.  Scrolling to its bottom I clicked to its link to the archive. There I found the latest entry --- the one said if the USA moved to the middle, the move would be contagious and immediate problems might could be solved.

The blog seemed to speak satirically. But Google really did perform.

Is Google, alone, good reason for optimism? I think so. So I then entered in the box the following:  how do we end the war without causing more terror ?

Google replied near its top, that I should read at least two books:

Just War in the Age of Terror. By Jean Bethke Elshtain. New York: Basic Books, 2003.
The Lesser Evil: Political Ethics in the Age of Terror. By Michael Ignatieff.
Princeton, NJ: Princeton University Press, 2004.

A decent review of the books by William Nolte, with an answer to my question, was right there in my box. It offered different answers: from find and ameliorate the root causes of terrorism --- to --- find and  kill the terrorists.

Is Google, alone, good reason for optimism? I think so.

But we are at the beginning not the end of this road.
