My Message to Mitt Romney's Sons' Blog

Mitt Romney's appeal to me is his promise to be effective and his record of accomplishment in Massachusetts.

He has not yet promised to mobilize our financial resources. But he should, because we are in fact at war with ruthless—if less than sovereign state-size—enemies.

He owes us a promise that he has studied our financial mobilization for WW II, and, if elected, he will not fail to prepare us for success instead of failure.

In WW II financial mobilization meant we spent up to (and perhaps even a little above) our physical limit. We created new infrastructure and industries to produce the sinews of war and peace.

We should not be doing less than that today.

In WW II and the years that followed we found that we could "spend and save" rather than "tax and spend". Mitt should look into this --- because, although more than half our nation wants us to win and not to lose, less than half is anxious to raise taxes if we do not have to.

This is a serious comment. Whoever reads it and can get Mitt's ear owes me a reply.

I know the very high volume of comment that is aimed at a candidate cannot all be answered. But you must develop a system that makes good use of useful ideas aimed at your success and America's success if Mitt is elected.
